I am asking a question of you all, because I miss seeing Juicy's Question of the Day, and this one came to mind. This can be answered by both the married ladies and the "involved with significant other" ladies....
If you are married, what was your wedding "first dance" song? OR
If you involved witha significant other, what is "your song"?
If the song has a story behind it (why is it your song?), please feel free to share it.
My wedding "first dance" song was "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. It was our song because he worked at a radio station at Richard Stockton College, and he had a couple of different radio shows. One was all "oldies", and "Unchained Melody" played in the background while he voiced over for his show promos. So, every time I heard the song, even when it wasn't playing as a promo, I thought of him. We married on 2/14/93.

Cool!!! That is really sweet how you chose the song tdsollog!
Gord and I are here, we can both recall the moment and dancing together - it was a while back, June 1975 - but we can't member the song!!! But we remember the feeling.... it was romantic dancing to that song.
Gord was running up the stairs to get packed for our honeymoon, tripped, and sprained his ring finger... they were chuckling at emerg. his finger was so swollen they said he would now never get that ring off LOL! Had a great honeymoon anyways!!!
1Thanks. I think I'll always remember it, despite it being linked to "Ghost". It was "our song" before the movie came out.
Your honeymoon story sounds funny! I hope you've shared it with others.
I almost became a widow on my honeymoon. John & I went skiing for outdoor activities (we went to the Poconos, and decided to come out for air). I finished after several hours... I was tired, frisky, and hungry. He wanted one more trip, so I agreed, and I told him I'd wait right there for him. Well, long story short, he went back up the lift. I waited a little bit, and I saw him come down the mountain, then NOTHING. Then, the ski patrol zoomed past! I was horrified! He came down alive, but hurting. He hit a snow fence. If it had not been there, he would've been gone. We have told our boys about it now, and thankfully we can laugh about it now.
2Wow!!! That is memorable!!! You guys sound like a sweet couple!
3Our first dance was "In this life" by Bette Midler. I was really holding back the tears because the DJ screwed up and played some other Bette song. Luckily a friend ran out to the store and bought the correct CD so we re-did our first dance. It's all on video and I can laugh about it now but boy I was upset!
4Have I told You Lately?By Van Morrison/Rod Stewart. It just says everything we feel about each other. My anniversary 7/11/93,he always says he chose it because they are his lucky numbers! It was abeautiful day except the photographer forgot to put film in the camera at the reception.Thankfully my aunt had went around and took beautiful photos!
5Our song is "You're all I need" by Mary J Blige and Method Man. It's not the original but it fits our personalities and we were listening to it one day and my boyfriend said "This song reminds me of us" and I agreed.. since then it just stuck.
Awesome lyrics. Look it up!
"Don't fall for someone who's not willing to catch you"
6Well, our song has always been "Dancing in the Moonlight" because on one of our first dates, my fiancee sang it while we danced under the moonlight. Yes, even though it sounds cheesy, it was so simple and romantic.
And - I can't wait because it's going to be played at our wedding in 18 days. I'm so excited!

9"Unchained Melody" was my sister and her husband's wedding song when they got married three years ago. It's such a romantic song. I think she picked it mainly because of the scene in ghost-but your story is great.
